WARRINGTON Wolves’ academy players have linked up with yet another club legend while out in Australia.

Former Wire hooker, captain and coach Jon Clarke was on hand to greet the youngsters during their tour of NRL side Manly Sea Eagles, with whom he has just taken up a role as head of strength and conditioning.

Sea Eagles head coach Anthony Seibold also chatted to the team as they visited his side’s training base as their tour Down Under heads towards its conclusion.

The Wire face New South Wales’ under 17s team in their final tour match tomorrow before flying back to the UK on Monday.

Clarke is back in rugby league having held several strength and conditioning roles in rugby union since leaving Warrington back in 2018 – he has worked on the coaching staff for England, the British and Irish Lions and latterly Australia having been part of Eddie Jones’ backroom team for the recent Rugby World Cup.

As a player, he turned out 263 times for The Wire over 11 seasons between 2001 and 2011 before later returning to the performance department.
