JOSH Thewlis had quite the afternoon for England Knights as they wrapped up their post-season schedule.

The Warrington Wolves youngster crossed for four of the Knights’ six tries in their 28-4 victory over World Cup-bound Scotland in Edinburgh.

Playing on the wing, Thewlis scored twice in each half to make it five tries in two games having touched down in last week’s win over France B.

“I’m buzzing with that,” he said post-match.

“We said coming into the game that it was all about our ‘D’ (defence). We’ve got individuals in this team who can perform and that showed tonight.

“We’ve only conceded one try again like last week – we knew the points would come but it was all about our ‘D.’

“There’s a few boys in here that I don’t really know but we’ve become a really bunch of players.

“We’re all really good mates, nobody’s been left out and I’ve really enjoyed it.”

Thewlis was joined in the Knights’ starting line-up by Wire teammates Ellis Longstaff and Matty Nicholson, who played at centre and loose-forward respectively while hooker Danny Walker came off the bench.
