MATT Dufty’s Warrington Wolves debut has taken another step closer.

The Australian full-back, who arrived in the country this week after his move from Canterbury Bulldogs, has been named in Daryl Powell’s 21-man squad for Saturday’s clash with Huddersfield Giants.

Barring any late hitches, he is set to start the game with Josh Thewlis, who started at full-back during the defeat to Hull KR last time out, dropping out of the squad altogether.

Riley Dean is also back in the fold after missing the Hull KR game under concussion protocol, while on-loan centre Jake Wardle will play as the terms of his loan agreement permit him to feature against his parent club.

Wire squad: Kyle Amor, Matty Ashton, Joe Bullock, Daryl Clark, Jason Clark, Ben Currie, Matt Davis, Riley Dean, Matt Dufty, James Harrison, Oliver Holmes, Peter Mata’utia, Thomas Mikaele, Greg Minikin, Robbie Mulhern, Matty Nicholson, Stefan Ratchford, Danny Walker, Jake Wardle, George Williams, Connor Wrench

Meanwhile, Huddersfield are only able to name a squad of 19 players for the game at the John Smith's Stadium.

The Giants will be without veteran centre Leroy Cudjoe, who has picked up a one-match suspension, but are boosted by the return of hooker Adam O'Brien.

As his loan agreement is similar to Wardle's, Toby King is available to face his parent club for Ian Watson's side, who are without such players as ex-Wire skipper Chris Hill, Ricky Leutele, Jermaine McGillvary and Tui Lolohea.
