DARYL Powell says he is “really happy” with Warrington Wolves’ progress on recruitment and retention for the 2023 season.

The Wire are said to be on the verge of confirming several new signings and contract extensions for current squad members for next season as Powell aims to revamp his squad.

Deals for Canterbury Bulldogs full-back Matt Dufty and Wests Tigers prop Thomas Mikaele understood to be close to completion while Catalans Dragons front-rowers Sam Kasiano and Gil Dudson are also being heavily linked with moves to The Halliwell Jones Stadium.

One player who will not be with the club next year is Josh Charnley, with Powell confirming the winger will leave upon the expiry of his current contract at the end of the season.

Warrington Wolves boss teases recruitment news

When asked about recruitment and retention, Powell said there will be some “good stories” revealed in the near future.

“I’m really happy with how things are going on that front,” he said.

“It’s ongoing but there will be news in the next couple of weeks.

“You’ll find out when we put it out there but there will be some good stories coming out.”
