WARRINGTON Wolves can now plot their way through their second Betfred Women's Super League season.

The revamped competition will start in May, with The Wire placed in Group 2 alongside Wakefield Trinity, Bradford Bulls, Featherstone Rovers and newly-promoted duo Barrow Raiders and Leigh Miners Rangers.

It is against one of the promoted sides that Lee Westwood's side – boosted by a raft of new signings – will kick off their campaign as they travel to Barrow on Sunday, May 15.

Their first home game will follow a week later, with Wakefield the visitors on May 22.

The Halliwell Jones Stadium will host three of the team's five scheduled home games, with the game against Leigh Miners Rangers on July 3 set to be a curtain-raiser for the men's Super League clash with Salford Red Devils on the same day.

There are 10 rounds of fixtures culminating in late August, when the top four in each group will qualify for semi finals followed by a Grand Final, which is scheduled for the weekend of September 17-18.

The winner of Group 2 will be promoted to the top group for 2023.

Westwood's side and their rivals will have already completed the Women's Challenge Cup before the league campaign starts, with Warrington in Group A alongside 2021 treble winners St Helens, Barrow and the British Army, whom they face in their first game on March 13.
