THERE were some reasons to smile for Warrington Wolves fans amid the gloom on Friday night.
While the first team's season was being brought to an abrupt end by Hull KR in the play-offs, several presentations were made to some of the club's top performers below the top grade.
The inaugural Pauline Nelson Award – named after a much-loved councillor and Warrington Wolves Supporters Trust founder member who passed away last year – was presented to the club's academy player of the year James Hartill.
Pauline's daughter Emma and Supporters Trust and Squadbuilder chair Alex Chicken were on hand to make the presentation.
A presentation was also made to Chris Rudd, the former Wire centre who had been serving as part of the club's academy coaching staff, as he prepares to move on.
Supporters were also given the chance to salute The Wire's Physical Disability Rugby League (PDRL) team after winning the PDRL Grand Final by beating Wakefield Trinity.
The team paraded the trophy on a lap of honour around The Halliwell Jones Stadium pitch.
