TOBY King looks set to miss out on making his England debut through injury.

The centre picked up a medial knee ligament injury during Warrington Wolves' win at St Helens on Thursday.

He went on to finish the game and was named in Shaun Wane's provisional 24-man squad to face the Combined Nations All-Stars on Friday.

However, Wire head coach Steve Price says he would not be fit to play for his side against Leigh Centurions on Thursday and it is not yet known how long he will be sidelined for.

"He’s been selected for England but he has a bit of a knee issue there," he said.

"He’s got a bit of a medial so he did really well to play on.

"We’re not sure how long he’ll be out for yet but it’s not a major injury."

Five more Warrington players - Stefan Ratchford, Mike Cooper, Ben Currie, Daryl Clark and Joe Philbin - were named alongside King in the England squad.

Wane is due to trim his squad down to 19 but even those cut from the squad are unlikely to be available for their club.

As such, Price confirmed a number of the club's youngsters will take the field against the Centurions.

"I’m really proud of the guys who have been selected as they’ve been playing really good football for our club," he said.

"I love seeing players represent their countries and I’m excited to watch them play on Friday.

"It’s an opportunity for players to step up and we’ve got a number of young players who have been training with us since pre-season and are itching to put a Warrington jersey on, and so am I.

"It’s really exciting for them and for us as a club.

"They’ve been class around our organisation from day one and these are the moments you coach for – to give young blokes an opportunity."

Price confirmed half-back Riley Dean and second rower Ellis Robson have been recalled from loan spells at York City Knights and Bradford Bulls respectively and are available to play on Thursday.

The Wire boss also gave an update on the progress of existing injury absentees Jason Clark (calf), Greg Inglis (hamstring) and Matty Ashton (ankle).

"Greg and Matty as definitely still a fair way off," he said.

"Jace Clark is doing really well but he won’t be available for this week."
