WARRINGTON Wolves’ women’s team got their Super League campaign off to the perfect start on Sunday.
Lee Westwood’s side travelled north to face Barrow Raiders in their Group Two opener and returned with a 32-6 victory.
Georgia Sutherland scored twice for The Wire, who had already beaten Barrow in both the Challenge Cup and the Women’s Nines this year.
New signing Fern Davies and skipper Michelle Davis were also among the try-scorers for Warrington as they saw off their newly-promoted hosts.
Warrington gave a debut to new signing Amy Johnson off the bench after the England international prop’s arrival was confirmed on Friday.
Northwich native Johnson has previously represented Leeds Rhinos but is looking forward to rediscovering the game again with The Wire.
