Teams from Wigan Warriors, Leeds Rhinos, Wakefield Trinity, Bradford Bulls, Salford Red Devils and Castleford Tigers took part and there was a surprise visit from the Rugby Football League president Clare Balding along with RFL chief executive Ralph Rimmer.

β€œWe were slow starters in the Wakefield festival but I told the boys we needed to turn up ready to play and to be fair they did. And we came off with two victories in the end.

β€œIt’s always nice to be playing at home and the boys enjoyed it. If we can carry on not being slow starters over the next few festivals I think we can go alright towards the end of the year.”
