DARYL Powell's first game in charge of Warrington Wolves ended in a pre-season defeat.

The Wire were beaten in Stefan Ratchford's Testimonial match by neighbours Wigan Warriors, for whom full-back Jai Field scored two tries.

Matty Ashton scored Wolves' only try, finishing off a nice left-edge move in the second half.
