TONY Smith has called up two of the club's former England Academy internationals for the visit of Salford City Reds at The Halliwell Jones Stadium on Sunday, kick off 3pm.

Under 19s centre James Saltonstall is named in the 19-man squad for the second time this year, while back rower or prop Bennion - who has spent the season so far with partner club Swinton Lions - comes into the reckoning for the first time.

The two 19-year-olds were in the England Academy squad, along with clubmate Ben Currie, that toured Australia last year.

Bennion started out with Latchford Albion and Rylands Sharks, while Saltonstall came to the club from Halifax-based Siddal.

Both represented the Grand Final-winning Warrington Wolves under 20s team last year.

Smith's other 17 selections mean he could still go into the Salford clash with an unchanged line-up from the side that defeated St Helens at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday.

There is no place in the squad for Rhys Williams, who was named in the 19 last week, or Tyrone McCarthy, whose loan period with Castleford Tigers has ended.

The other man in Wolves' 19 last week, Gareth O'Brien, has gone on a month's loan to St Helens.

Chris Bridge, Rhys Evans and Brett Hodgson await returns from injury.
