WARRINGTON took a big step closer to retaining the Lancashire Cup in a complete display of fast flowing rugby in Sunday's semi-final.

Following a ferocious opening 10 minutes, the home side's pack began to dominate, dispatching the speed on the flanks.

Tries from Charlie Bancroft, Rorio and Leo Zheng, Jude Lightfoot, Owen Hemmings and Isaac Johnson, with conversions from Jude Smith and Matty Hope, ensured Warrington progress to the decider against Liverpool Collegiate in Manchester on Sunday, April 29, as part of a finals day in which Warrington's under 15s will also feature.

Coach Dan Johnston said: "The lads have the knowledge and the skills but our communication on the pitch has been an issue and we've been lucky enough to have some rugby league coaches to help in this area. On Sunday this really paid off."
