WARRINGTON Town got back to winning ways over the weekend, but their squad continues to be in a state of flux.
Forward Gez Sithole has become the second player to have his departure from Cantilever Park confirmed today, following on from fellow attacking player Matt Grivosti.
Sithole only joined the club in the summer but he is set to reunite with former Town boss Mark Beesley at his new club FC United of Manchester following a seven-day notice of approach.
The 21-year-old was signed following an impressive trial period in the summer but has failed to score in his 10 competitive appearances for the club.
Sithole started new manager Paul Carden’s first game back in charge – the 1-1 draw at Chorley last weekend – but was an unused substitute during Saturday’s 2-1 win at Radcliffe.
Three players have now left the club following Carden’s return, with Sithole and Grivosti joining veteran defender Tom Hannigan in departing.
In response, three players have been signed – defenders Hamish Douglas and Theo Farquharson and midfielder Dana Amaral – with Carden having warned more changes to the squad were likely in the coming weeks.
Grivosti made 89 appearances for the club across two spells – the last of which was as a late substitute at Radcliffe on Saturday – and scored 13 goals.
However, he posted on his ‘X’ account last night that he had opted to move on and wished the club luck for the future.
Good luck to @theyellows for the future. Really enjoyed my time at the club, wish them nothing but the best. Thank you to everyone involved. Looking forward to what comes next. 🙌 pic.twitter.com/mL3MdJv8n1

He was initially signed by Carden in the summer of 2021 and after an impressive 2021-22 campaign in which he scored nine times in 36 games, he earned himself a move to Bolton Wanderers.
Having spent a season in Wanderers’ ‘B’ team, however, he returned to Cantilever Park last summer and helped them to a top-half finish in their first ever National League North campaign.
Grivosti has featured in nine of Town's 12 matches this season, although the majority of his game time has seen him play out of position at right-back following injuries to Ollie Southern and Murphy Bennett.
