ATHLETES welcomed a special visitor to Victoria Park.
Members of Warrington Athletics Club got to meet Olympian Lewis Davey and his Paris 2024 medal.
Davey, 23, from Grantham, Lincolnshire, was a member of the Team GB 4x400m relay team which won bronze and broke records in the Paris Olympic Games.
He was happy to chat with Warrington’s excited athletes, answer lots of questions and even ran a 400m lap with them.
He stayed for more than an hour, allowing for lots of individual photos with him and his medal.
“This was such a lovely and inspiring gesture from Lewis and all our athletes and parents really appreciated it,” said club secretary, Andy Clare.
“Our congratulations to him and the rest of the men's 4x400m relay team on their podium finish and their new UK and European record.”
