ASSISTANT manager David Raven has announced he has been sacked from his role at Warrington Town.
There has been no official word from the club, who have been approached for comment, but Raven confirmed the news on his X/Twitter account, saying it “came as a surprise to say the least.”
The former Liverpool, Carlisle United and Inverness Caledonian Thistle defender, who spent a successful spell at Cantilever Park as a player between 2018 and 2020, rejoined the club as manager Mark Beesley’s number two in 2022.
And as Beesley’s right-hand man, he helped guide the club to promotion to the National League North in 2023 followed by a safe mid-table position in their first Step Two campaign last year.
The news comes less than a week before the 2024-25 campaign begins, with Town travelling to King’s Lynn Town in their opening league fixture on Saturday.
After 2 and a half years I was sacked last week from my role as assistant manager @theyellows. It came as a surprise to say the least, but this industry never ceases to amaze me.

I wish @MarkBees30 and the lads all the very best for the coming season, it’s been a pleasure.
