WARRINGTON Rylands secured comfortable progress in the FA Trophy this afternoon, with two first-half goals seeing off Nantwich Town.

However, caretaker manager Jody Banim admitted he was frustrated not to see his side make life easier for themselves by scoring more goals.

After his injury-time own goal denied them three points in Tuesday’s derby at Warrington Town, James Neild scored at the right end for the first time in Rylands colours to set them on their way against their Cheshire neighbours.

Callum Dolan then doubled the lead just before the half-hour mark and any potential chance the Dabbers had of pulling things back disappeared when Troy Bourne was sent off during the second half.

“It was a comfortable victory,” Banim said.

“They had a go but we got the two goals early in the first half that settled us down.

“We had a spell of about 20 minutes where we were very, very good and played some nice stuff through the lines.

“I think the overriding feeling is frustration because I think we should have scored more goals. When they went down to 10 men, we created some really good opportunities.

“We could have scored five or six goals today, which can come back and hurt you sometimes.

“I don’t think we took enough care in the final third, but that is me being picky I suppose.”
