STEFAN Mols has committed himself to Warrington Town for the upcoming season.

Having netted six times in 26 appearances for Yellows last season after joining from Championship side Blackburn Rovers’ academy, the Spanish midfielder appeared set for a return to full-time football.

However, he has taken part in pre-season training with Town and has now agreed terms to remain at Cantilever Park for the 2022-23 campaign.

After he made an excellent initial impression at the club, manager Mark Beesley is looking forward to seeing how Mols progresses.

“We’ve been working on it through the summer,” he said.

“It looked like he may have been getting a move to a full-time club, but that didn’t materialise so he’s agreed to stay which is great for us.

“It adds competition for places in the middle of the pitch and up front. He’s fit, versatile and a great lad who wants to learn.

“He gets around the pitch and he scores goals – he needs to improve on that but that will come the more he plays.”
