WARRINGTON Town defender Eddie Clarke is facing a lengthy spell on the sidelines.

The left-back has missed Yellows’ last three games with a groin injury which looks set to keep him out until the new year.

Matt Regan has been deputising at left-back but he himself is managing a hip injury, so Town are actively seeking a full-back to ease the load on him.

“Eddie’s going to be out for a while. If we get him back before Christmas, we’ll have done well,” manager Paul Carden said.

“With the injury he has in his groin/pelvis area, he’s got to have complete rest.

“Any physio will tell you his injury isn’t a nice one, so time is going to be a healer with him.

“We’ve had a few coming back but every time we get some players back, we lose a few more."

“That’s how the league is and thankfully, we’ve got a strong squad to cope with it.”

Ahead of Saturday’s FA Trophy clash with Chasetown, Yellows will also check on widemen Jack Mackreth and Dom Reid, who were substituted during Saturday’s 1-0 win over Hyde United with calf and ankle injuries respectively.
