PAUL Carden was critical of a Warrington Town performance he labelled “naïve” but insisted his side still did enough to beat City of Liverpool.
An injury-time Josh Amis equaliser spared Yellows’ blushes and forced an FA Cup first qualifying replay with their lower-ranked visitors.
Town were second-best for much of the general play but squandered several chances to score before Amis eventually spared their blushes.

The sides will try again at Bootle FC on Tuesday evening, but Carden says that should not have been necessary.
However, he was less than satisfied by his side’s general display.
When asked if he was happy to have salvaged a draw and a replay, the Town boss answered: “All things considered, no.
“We’ve had three chances in the six-yard box in the second half that we should score. We had chances in the first half as well.
“We’ve probably had better chances today than we’ve had all season without playing well.
“The performance wasn’t good. We were poor defensively for the goals and our shape was poor in general play.
“I wasn’t happy with a lot of our play, but our resilience and character drags us through.
“It’s a disappointed dressing room and rightly so because we haven’t played well. For an experienced side, we were very naïve.”
