A BARNSTORMING first half allowed Warrington Town to pick up their first victory of the new season.

Louis Barnes and Matty Chadwick both scored their first goals for the club and although they were given a second-half scare by hosts Atherton Collieries, Yellows were good value for their win.

Jack Mackreth and Tony Gray started the scoring by netting within two minutes of each other as Town blitzed Colls in the first half, and it proved decisive in the end.

Daniel Lafferty and Gareth Peet briefly raised hopes of an unlikely Colls comeback, but while they huffed and puffed they could not complete it.
