WARRINGTON’S prospects of survival in Division One are getting bleaker after another batting calamity, this time at Bollington.

They were dismissed for just 91 on Saturday as they slipped to their fourth defeat in a row.

After winning the toss and choosing to bowl, Warrington had kept the home side in check until Bollington’s lower order went on the charge.

They plundered 100 runs from the last 10 overs to finish on a respectable 189-9, with James Rudd the pick of the Warrington attack with 4-57.

Brad McIntosh (3-50) and Johan Els (2-43) also took wickets, but the batting was a disappointment.

Aaron Soni, who came in at number 10, top scored with 28, with only Richard Heaney (14) and McIntosh (13) also getting double figures.

The seconds had a much better time of things, beating Brooklands by three wickets on a damp pitch.

Phil Whelan was the star of Warrington’s bowling unit, taking 5-19 from 15 overs, and was ably backed up by Chia Gadepalli (3-27) as Brooklands were dismissed for just 106.

Warrington made hard work of their chase, but eventually reached their target as Isaac Webster top scored with 28.

The thirds batted out time for a draw with Bunbury’s seconds, who were dismissed for 184 thanks in part to Mike Fagan-Hall (4-54) and Jon Burgess (3-40).

Unable to match the home side’s run rate, Billy Gilbert hit an unbeaten 89 to help Warrington close on 148-2.

The firsts and seconds face their Oulton Park counterparts on Saturday, with the former playing at home and the latter on the road.

The thirds visit neighbours Appleton, while the fourths host Styal.
