WARRINGTON Kickboxing Studio enhanced its status as one of the best amateur centres in the country when returning from the 2011 Amateur Kickboxing Association National Championship finals with three English champions and six British champions.

The hard work produced during the regional qualifiers paid off as English champion Rachael Wolfenden defeated Katie Brown of Suffolk in the ladies welterweight division.

Simon Lyon defeated Simon McNeill of Chester for the English super-welterweight title, while Ashley Hassall out-fought Daniel Welch of Manchester for the middleweight title.

British title winner Jack Salt won the under 17s schoolboys’ welterweight title, defeating Charlie Boardman of Leigh, with Phil Dale beating David Hope of Urmston for the welterweight prize.

At super-welterweight, Nick Griffiths overcame Peter Coke of Leigh for the national title, while in the heavier divisions Marc Burn defeated Andrew MacFarlane of Newcastle for the cruiserweight title.

Paul Duckworth beat Leon Caush of Newcastle for the super-cruiserweight title and Joe Miller defeated Chris Harrison of Leigh for the heavyweight title, completing a superb sweep of championships for Neil Holden's Warrington studio.
