GRAPPENHALL Cricket Club's under 15s extended their unbeaten run to 25 games and secured the Cheshire County League Championship this week.

Their success was concluded with wins against Cheadle on Friday and fellow title chasers Brooklands on Sunday.

Coach Neil Baxter said: "The squad have worked extremely hard to achieve their aim of winning the premier League and Cheshire Cup double.

"This team have only lost two games in Cheshire in the last four years and they are now training hard for the last 16 of the National Knockout in York next week."

Grappers restricted Cheadle to 103 all out with Sam Baxter taking 5 for 32.

Grappenhall kept up with the required run rate but the loss of wickets kept Cheadle in the hunt.

The victory was secured by Luke Watson and Morgan Tarr with a 20-run partnership.

Grappenhall set a target of 124 for 5 in their title decider with Brooklands, with Chris France retiring on 43.

Brooklands fell short of the target by five runs thanks to a good performance in the field and some controlled bowling.
