CHRIS Chisnall joined fellow Warrington driver Neil Patten in joint second position in the post-1989 class of the Formula Ford North West Championship after finishing second at Oulton Park at the weekend.

Chisnall moved up from third to second during the race, while Patten was shunted off the track and had to retire despite qualifying in second position. Lymm's Barry Linley had clutch problems and failed to complete a lap.

Ian Howard moved up two places during the post-1990 car race to finish 22nd, while John Farrell retired on the eighth lap.

Andrew Lennie finished fourth - second in the XR3i class - in the Ford XR Challenge, with Andy Cunningham 17th after starting from the back of the grid, while Chris Hamer retired after a multi-car shunt.

Appleton Thorn's Martin Richardson has wrapped up the pre-1965 class of the MG Car Club Championship after a class win in his race at the weekend.
