EAGLE came out on top after an evenly matched contest with Southport’s third string.
With the game in a stalemate for 25 minutes, it took a quick recycling move to break through the disorganised Southport defence, with Eagle using that method to score the first two tries of the game through Jack Bainczyk and Chris Billinge.
Southport took the game to Eagle in the second half and were rewarded with their second try of the game, but a clever reshuffle in the Eagle pack handed the impetus back to the home side and two more tries from Danny Evans and Ryan Tourney were enough to keep the hosts ahead.
