WARRINGTON Kickboxing Studio hosted a novice level amateur tournament and celebrated Dave Corless-Smith’s impressive cruiserweight victory over Leigh’s Chris Burns.
Corless-Smith scored two technical knockouts on his way to victory, including one in the first round of the final.
Emma Elliot and Katie Hawkins gave good accounts of themselves in tough matches against Leigh’s Cath Stroud and Hayley O’Neill, despite losing out on points.
The men’s heavyweight tournament was won by John Emanu of Widnes after he defeated Warrington’s Martin Rylands by technical knockout.
Warrington’s former amateur British and commonwealth champion Paige Farrington will contest her third professional fight against Londoner Emma Goodwin at the Tower Ballroom in Birmingham on Sunday, April 25.
