AS he prepares his St Helens side for the fourth meeting between the sides this year, Paul Wellens has got to the Warrington Wolves squad pretty well.
And he has identified a key change in The Wire from what has gone before as he gets ready to bring his side to The Halliwell Jones Stadium.
"Warrington’s strength this this year is their collective,” Wellens told our sister paper the St Helens Star ahead of Saturday’s play-off eliminator clash.
“They're a really hard-working competitive team whereas probably their strength in the past has been as individuals.
"I think that that's where they've improved under Sam (Burgess), but they do also have those individual threats within them.
“They are the likes of Dream Team members Matty Ashton, Danny Walker and Matt Dufty, plus George Williams is a really dangerous player for them.
"So they have got that combination of individual threats and but also really hard-working.”
He has picked out a similar strength in his own team, many of whom have played key roles in winning four out of the last five Super League titles.
However, a more difficult campaign this time around saw Saints narrowly avoid a first Super League season without play-off football.
"Our strength is how hard we work for each other,” he said.
"And again, we've got some players in there who can do things that a lot of players can't.
"So I think that's why it makes for a really intriguing contest on the weekend."
