DARYL Clark will go for scans to determine the extent of the injury he suffered during the victory at Castleford Tigers.

The Warrington Wolves hooker was forced off during the first half of the 38-0 victory over his former club and did not return, with Danny Walker completing the game at hooker.

In his post-match press conference, head coach Daryl Powell confirmed he had tweaked knee ligaments and that his first instinct was that the injury was not serious.

However, the full extent of the issue will be determined in the coming days.

"He’s got a bit of a knee injury – he couldn’t come back on but I don’t think its too bad," Powell said.

"It’s a knee ligament strain so he’ll get a scan and we’ll take it from there."

Powell also confirmed a quad injury kept scrum-half Josh Drinkwater out of the game but that he expected the Australian to return to contention for next week’s clash with Hull FC.

Drinkwater was ruled out after failing to complete yesterday's captain's run, with Peter Mata'utia stepping into the halves to partner George Williams.

"He tried to train yesterday and couldn’t quite do it. He’s got a bit of a quad tear but it’s very small," he said.

"I’d expect him to play next week – I don’t think it will keep him out for too long."
