PADDY Jennings and Rob Makin notched hat-tricks as Lymm ran riot at bottom side Kirkby Lonsdale 95-7.

The first three of centre Jennings' four scores came in the opening 15 minutes, while hooker Makin's triple strike occurred in the second half.

Lymm made several changes to the side which put 79 points past Kendal the previous week, with Finn Williams and Joe Dowdswell making first-team debuts and James Rooney returning to the fray after two years sidelined by an ankle injury.

Oli Higginson captained the team on his 250th first-team appearance for the club.

"Very pleasing to pick up the five points and to rack up a huge score," said Lymm director of rugby Adam Fletcher.

‘It was great to hand out a couple of debuts and I really enjoyed seeing James Rooney play again. Since making his debut four years ago James has had multiple serious injuries, so for him to complete 80 minutes was excellent.

"At the other end of the spectrum we had Oli Higginson clicking up his 250th game. A huge achievement for a club legend."

Sandbach visit Beechwood for a second versus third league game on Saturday, kick-off 3pm.
