NEXT year, Warrington Wolves look set to go from having one of Super League’s smallest packs to possessing one of the largest.

Much of Daryl Powell’s recruitment for 2023 has been focused on overhauling the Wire pack, which is set to look completely different next year.

St George Illawarra loose forward Josh McGuire, Canterbury Bulldogs prop Paul Vaughan, Catalans Dragons pair Sam Kasiano and Gil Dudson are on their way to The Halliwell Jones Stadium, with mid-season recruits Thomas Mikaele and Matty Nicholson signed with the long-term in mind.

Going the other way, Mike Cooper left for Wigan Warriors mid-season while the likes of Jack Hughes, Jason Clark, Robbie Mulhern and Matt Davis have also departed

However, one forward that will be staying is Joe Bullock, who is contracted to the club for two more years after this one.

Having had a solid first year in Wire colours after joining from Wigan, he is now looking to kick on in 2023.

While the new arrivals will no doubt bring fierce competition for places, Bullock is hoping to learn from the kind of experience the likes of Vaughan and McGuire will bring with both having extensive experience in the international and State of Origin arenas.

“Those guys are coming in for a purpose – they’re big name players and I’m excited to play with them.

“They’ve all got huge experience and I feel like I can learn from them – you’d be an idiot not to look at players like Paul Vaughan and not think you can get something off him.

“While it adds to that competition, I feel like their actions will rub off on me and that there will be things I can take into my own game from it."
