WOOLSTON Rovers will be hoping that the week off has done them good as they look to get back to winning ways.

They entertain an in-form Normanton Knights side in the National Conference League Division Two at the Limestone Construction Field, Monk Sports Club on Saturday afternoon, kick off 2.30pm.

Rovers Head of Rugby Mal Holt said: “We competed really well for an hour against Heworth but at this level that is not enough; you need to be switched on for 80 minutes if you want to come out of a game with the right result.

"Normanton are just above us in the league table, in fifth place, so this is a vital game for us if we are to keep our place in the top six.

"We have been so inconsistent and that has really cost us in some tight games.

"When we play to our structures and follow the gameplan then we are difficult to contain so we will be looking to do that on Saturday and if we do then there is no reason why we cannot get the win.”

Meanwhile Rovers ‘A’ will be looking to build on the big win over Liverpool Lizards last time out when they travel to Leigh East ‘A’ in the NWML Division Three on Saturday afternoon, kick off 12.30pm at Leigh Sports Village, Ledgard Avenue, Leigh, WN7 4GY.

Rovers ‘A’ coach Liam Lawton said: “This will be our second trip to play Leigh East in the last fortnight due to the way the ‘loop’ fixtures have come out and we will be looking to put in a better display than we did in the second half of that game.

"We were a lot better organised against Liverpool and if we can take that into this game then we will have a great chance.

"It is really important that we get some good results in our last four regular league games to claim a top four play off place.”
