FOR the second time during pre-season, Warrington Rylands slipped to a friendly defeat in Wales on Saturday.

Having lost to reigning Welsh Premier League champions TNS last month, Dave McNabb’s side were beaten 1-0 by Bala Town at the weekend.

Former Blues wideman Luke Wall scored the winning goal for Bala just after half time.

Rylands now have four friendlies remaining before their opening game of the Northern Premier League Premier Division season on August 13, when Gainsborough Trinity visit Gorsey Lane.

The next of them is tomorrow night in a game which has seen a late change of opponent for McNabb’s men.

With National League North side AFC Fylde having withdrawn from their scheduled clash, Blues will now face off against North West Counties League outfit Pilkington FC.

The game sees the return of Rylands’ FA Vase-winning captain Gary Kenny, who is now player-coach at the St Helens-based club.

Kick off at Gorsey Lane is at 7.45pm and entry is free of charge to all spectators.
