SATURDAY'S defeat to Catalans Dragons meant Warrington Wolves made an unwanted piece of history this afternoon.
Their 40-8 defeat at the Stade Gilbert Brutus means they have now conceded 40 points in back-to-back Super League games having lost 40-22 to Wigan Warriors last time out.
It is the first time that has happened in more than a decade, with the last instance coming back in 2009.
Tony Smith's side were beaten 40-28 by Wakefield at The Halliwell Jones Stadium on August 21 of that year before losing 40-16 at Hull Kingston Rovers on September 5.
Those two defeats came either side of their Challenge Cup Final victory over Huddersfield Giants at Wembley Stadium.
The last time this happened with no games in between was earlier that same season - a 40-20 home loss to Catalans in Round Two was followed by a 48-22 defeat at Wakefield.
