BOTH Warrington Town and Warrington Rylands will face big tests of their promotion credentials this afternoon.

Yellows and Blues are both in the mix in their respective divisions but today's games will give a big indication of what they can expect.

Town, who sit fifth in the Northern Premier League Premier Division, travel to Derbyshire to face third-place Buxton.

Mark Beesley’s side are fresh having seen their last scheduled fixture – last weekend’s trip to FC United of Manchester – postponed due to a waterlogged pitch and have won their last two league games, scoring eight goals in the process.

A win at Silverlands will take them above the Bucks, who were pre-season title favourites but are in the midst of a difficult run of four consecutive defeats.

Yellows are six points behind league leaders Matlock Town having played a game more but are four adrift of second-placed Bamber Bridge with a game in hand.

Closer to home, Rylands make the short trip to Crosby to take on NPL West Division leaders Marine.

Dave McNabb’s side are third in the table, five points behind their hosts, and they will be keen to avoid repeats of recent away losses to promotion rivals Runcorn Linnets and Leek Town.

A trip to Marine is perhaps the toughest prospect in their division, with the Merseysiders regularly attracting crowds of more than 1,000 and having won nine of their 10 home games this season.
