WARRINGTON Athletics Club youngster Lewis Shaw is the one to beat in the country after a personal-best display in his latest outing.

At Sale Harriers’ Manchester Indoor open meeting, the under 15s athlete moved top of the UK rankings for his age group in winning his 60m hurdles race in a new best time of 8.74secs.

Shaw also beat his previous fastest time in the 60m, clocking 8.06secs to finish his race in second place.

There were also new personal bests for clubmates Rebecca Hardy and Evie Schofield over sprint distances.

Running in the under 23s age group, Hardy came second in her 60m hurdles race as she posted a time of 9.39secs.

Schofield won her 60m race and clocked her quickest ever time of 8.17secs in the process.
