BOTH of our semi-professional sides are on the road this afternoon as the Northern Premier League season approaches the halfway mark.

Warrington Town travel to a side struggling at the wrong end of the table while Warrington Rylands have a big clash against fellow high-flyers.

In the Premier Division, Yellows head to Derbyshire as they visit the Don Amott Arena to take on Mickleover.

They do so brimming with confidence and on a run of eight unbeaten games in all competitions - a run in which they have conceded just two goals.

By contrast, their hosts have won just two of their last 15 games, although one of those was a 2-0 victory over Atherton Collieries last time out as they aim to move away from the relegation zone.

A trip to Mickleover was one of the few games Town played in the Covid-curtailed 2020-21 season, losing 3-2 to a side that finished that all-too-short campaign top of the Premier Division table.

In the West Division, Rylands have a tasty local derby as they make the short trip to Runcorn Linnets.

Dave McNabb’s side are also flying having smashed seven past struggling Prescot Cables last time out to extend their unbeaten league run to six matches.

That crushing win at Gorsey Lane elevated them to the top of the division’s goalscoring charts, with 34 from their 15 matches.

They take that run to face a Linnets side in decent form themselves as they sit just outside the play-off spots.

They have lost only once at home in the league this season and are also well rested having not played since November 9.
