A SERIOUS injury suffered by Warrington RUFC’s Danny Fleming forced their game at De La Salle to be abandoned on Saturday.
The game was stopped 10 minutes into the second half after the back rower suffered a neck injury and could not be moved until medical assistance arrived.
Fleming was taken to hospital and fortunately, scans have shown no break in his neck and he is currently working towards being discharged.
Warrington were leading the game 15-7 after crossing the whitewash twice before half time.
A counter-attack led to winger Jack Rigby crossing for the opener before stand-off Matt Beeley ghosted over for a well-worked try.
Beeley converted his own score and then added a penalty after the home side had reduced the deficit with a try of their own before play was brought to a premature end.
Warrington’s next game sees them host Winnington Park on Saturday.
