EAGLE Sports ended their three-match losing streak with a hard-earned point in at Middlewich Town on Saturday.

Indeed, their performance was described by manager Richard Chinn as “more like the Eagle we know”

After starting the game strongly, Eagle fell behind midway through the first half as the ball squirmed under goalkeeper Liam Marlow from a shot from close range.

The goal shook Eagle for five minutes, but they regained their composure and equalised ten minutes before half time.

Chris Quirk slid a ball through the home defence for Jordan Lockett, whose effort was saved by the home goalkeeper but defender Ste Robinson was on hand to put the ball into the empty net, much to the delight of the travelling supporters.

Half time came, with the second half set up for both teams to go and take the three points.

Eagle lacked the quality in the vital areas in their search for a winner but defended well, surviving an onslaught of corners while there was some quality last ditch defending from captain Adam Coleman to stop a late chance for the home side.

Chinn's side are not due to play again until November 27, when they welcome Whaley Bridge Athletic to Thornton Road.
