WARRINGTON Wolves’ bid to reach Wembley Stadium ended in bitter disappointment at the weekend.
However, one of their on-loan youngsters is set to step out at the national stadium on Challenge Cup Final day.
Half-back Riley Dean helped loan club York City Knights to Wembley on Sunday as they reached the final of the AB Sundecks 1895 Cup.
He started at stand-off and had a hand in two of the Knights’ tries in a 36-22 semi-final win over Swinton Lions, which sets up a final clash with Featherstone Rovers.
The 1895 Cup Final kicks off at 12noon on July 17 as a curtain-raiser to the Challenge Cup Final between St Helens and Castleford Tigers.
Meanwhile, Ellis Robson continues to make a big impression on loan at Bradford Bulls.
The second rower made it three tries in as many appearances for John Kear’s side as he crossed during a 31-12 win over Newcastle Thunder at Odsal.
