GREG Inglis will not be rushed back from the hamstring injury he suffered against Huddersfield Giants on Monday.

The centre limped off shortly after scoring Warrington Wolves' first try in the 26-20 defeat and has not been named in the 21-man squad for Saturday's game against Castleford Tigers.

Inglis will have a scan later today to determine the extent of the injury.

Head coach Steve Price has confirmed Toby King will move back into his more suited centre role from the second row to replace Inglis, with captain Jack Hughes slotting straight back into the pack after completing a one-match suspension.

"Greg’s got a hammy strain at present – we’re still trying to determine what grade but he won’t play this weekend," he said.

"He’s going for scans later on this afternoon.

"With a hamstring, we’re certainly not going to rush it. We’ll make sure we get it right.

"Toby’s being playing fantastic football this season and is one of the form centres in the competition.

"We’ll get our captain back over on the right side as well which will certainly stiffen it up."

The Wire will also be without Sitaleki Akauola, who misses the game through suspension.

The prop was hit with a Grade A dangerous contact charge after giving away a late penalty on Monday.

Price says he did not see much wrong with the incident but that the Tongan international's previous disciplinary record meant an appeal would likely have failed.

"He’s worked extremely hard to get back in the team," he said.

"His performances over the past couple of weeks have been really solid and he’s changed the dynamics of games when he’s come on the field.

"It was an unfortunate incident – personally I didn’t think there was too much wrong with it but his previous record counted against him.

"It’s unfortunate because he’s been playing some good football."

One player who does feature in the squad is young second rower Jacob Gannon, who would be making his senior debut if selected.

Gannon featured for Paul Anderson's academy team in their 54-10 win over Newcastle Thunder on Saturday in his first game back from a serious foot injury.

"The young kid has been doing really well. He played for the academy last week, got a good 80-minute hit out and is a good young prospect," Price said.

"We’ve got a number of players out on loan too and it’s important for them to keep playing.

"He’s only a young kid and there’s a lot of areas of his game to work on. It’s unfortunate those guys missed a lot of football last year with no academy.

"He had stress fractures in his foot and last week was his first game back.

"He needs more regular football then he’ll be pushing for down the track."
