MATTY Ashton will be sent for a scan on the injury he suffered during Warrington Wolves' win over Hull KR.

The full-back went down during the second half of The Wire's 50-26 win at The Halliwell Jones Stadium and despite initially trying to play on, he had to be replaced.

In his post-match press conference, Wire head coach Steve Price says the full extent of the ankle injury will be known towards the middle of next week.

"He’s got a bit of an ankle problem there," Price said of his full back.

"With it being a Bank Holiday, it may be a bit difficult to get him in for scans on Monday.

"Hopefully, we will know a little bit more on Tuesday."

Price also confirmed prop Robbie Mulhern missed today's game against his former club due to an injury picked up in training.

However, he is expected to be fit for the Challenge Cup quarter final against Catalans Dragons on Friday.

"Robbie just had a lower leg injury during the week at training," Price said.

"It was unfortunate as he was desperate to play against his former club, but there could have been long-term effects if we’d have pushed it.

"He’ll be right for next week, but I thought Sitaleki (Akauola) did a really good job coming in."
