England's first training session under Shaun Wane

AFTER a year of Zoom meetings with his players, England national team head coach Shaun Wane finally got his squad out on the field yesterday.

He assembled his selected players for his first training session at Leeds Beckett University as they build up to a big year ahead.

Six Warrington Wolves players were among them as Ben Currie, Mike Cooper, Daryl Clark, Stefan Ratchford, Toby King and Joe Philbin all took part.

Wane is aiming to hold monthly sessions with his squad before getting them together for his first game in charge – a match against a Combined Nations All-Stars team selected from some of Super League's finest overseas talent.

That game takes place at The Halliwell Jones Stadium on Friday, June 25, and will help inform Wane's squad selection for the season-ending Rugby League World Cup on home soil, which starts on October 23.
