THE Cheshire Football League Premier Division has officially been curtailed.

However, the likes of Greenalls PSO, Eagle Sports and Daten will still be able to get back on the field soon thanks to a new cup competition.

Clubs voted against playing the original league format to a finish but in its place will be the JB Parker Premier Division Cup – a 16-team, Champions League style knockout tournament.

The teams have been split into four groups, with teams playing each other twice and the top two from each pool qualifying for the knockout stages.

The three Warrington sides at least know who they will face in the group stages and have had their fixture lists confirmed.

Daten have been drawn in Group One alongside Billinge, Crewe FC and Lostock Gralam while Greenalls and Eagle find themselves in Groups Three and Four respectively.

Greens will take on Broadheath Central, Middlewich Town and Altrincham reserves while Eagle will go up against Knutsford, FC St Helens and Poynton.

Daten and Greenalls will be the first in action as both play on Saturday, April 3 – the Atoms travel to Crewe FC while Greens visit Middlewich Town. Both games kick off at 2pm.

Eagle will have to wait another week to return with a trip to FC St Helens on April 10.
