MATT Davis is rated as “touch and go” for Warrington Wolves’ opening Super League fixture.
The forward has picked up a hamstring injury in training and while it is not thought to be a serious injury, it has put his participation in the clash with Castleford Tigers on March 28 in doubt.
Davis was the only player head coach Steve Price raised when asked if any of his squad were doubts for the game at Headingley and his fitness will continue to be monitored.
“We’ve still got a couple of weeks to go. We’ve got Chris Hill’s Testimonial between now and our first competition game, too,” Price said.
“You always pick up little niggles at this time of year. We’re pushing the boys really hard and I would be disappointed if a few of them weren’t creaky.
“Matty Davis may be touch-and-go but we’ll know more when the 28th gets closer.
“He’s picked up a bit of a hammy strain at training. It’s nothing too serious but he’ll be touch and go.
“Other than that, we’re in pretty good shape.”
