WARRINGTON Town are back in action tonight with another home game.
Cheshire rivals Nantwich Town are the visitors to Cantilever Park in a fixture that Yellows have enjoyed of late.
They completed a league double over the Dabbers in the coronavirus-curtailed 2019-20 season, winning both fixtures 3-1, and enjoyed a memorable 4-1 win at Cantilever Park in the 2018-19 play-offs.
However, Nantwich will be defending one of only two unbeaten league records tonight – albeit having played fewer games than most other teams due to a Covid-19 scare earlier this month.
Yellows boss Paul Carden is under no illusions about how tough the fixture will be for his side.
“I think Dave (Cooke, Nantwich manager) has added two or three but retained the whole squad from last year. That shows the confidence he has in the group there,” he said.
“It’s another tough one but none of them are easy.
“It doesn’t matter what the name on the badge is, your own focus is the priority.
“We’ve got to recover and make sure we’re right – we got a few kicks and bangs on Saturday – but everyone’s in the same boat.”
Town will check on the fitness of striker Josh Amis, who has started every league game thus far but was substituted with a knock during Saturday’s 2-1 win over Radcliffe.
Defender Evan Gumbs is not yet fit to return from a hamstring injury while midfielder Scott Brown remains suspended.
Kick off at Cantilever Park is at 7.45pm.
