WARRINGTON'S Richard Roundell had to brave some awful conditions at Oulton Park on Saturday.
Roundell was taking part in the GAZ Shocks 116 Trophy race in his BMW 1161 1600cc car.
In a practice session held in torrential rain, Roundell could only finish 22nd but the race itself saw him improve greatly.
He finished 14th in the 40-lap race, hitting a fastest speed of just over 65mph.
“It is my first season in the championship and I am finding it very different from others I have competed in,” he said.
“I am taking part in the CNC Heads championship as well as the GAZ championship and the latter seems to suit my car better.”
