FIELDING a team showing six changes to its starting line from last Saturday’s FA Cup tie, Warrington Rylands 1906 eased past Goole AFC in the Buildbase FA Vase second qualifying at Gorsey Lane on Saturday.

But for an outstanding performance by Goole goalkeeper Matt Zaniewski the rampant Blues could have easily doubled their tally. He was however unable to prevent Freddie Potter from opening the scoring in the 12th minute, picking up the ball in midfield Potter advanced before unleashing an unstoppable drive from 25 yards which flew into the bottom corner.

Rylands dominated the first half action but due to the actions of Zaniewski, who continued to pull off a string of fine saves, could not find a way past their Northern Counties East opponents before the break. Goole were reduced to tem men shortly before half time when Jordan Emery was red carded following a dangerous tackle on Morris.

Rylands doubled their lead three minutes into the second half when Milne volleyrd into the roof of the net from 12 yards. Two minutes later, Zaniewski did well to keep out a Potter shot but the rebound fell to Drummond who scored from close range.

Despite not giving up Goole never really threatened to get back into the game although Regan Waud did hit the Rylands crossbar with a free kick before Paul Shanley increased the lead in the 71st minute with an angled drive which went in off an upright. Drummond and Shanley added further goals in the closing minutes to wrap up a convincing victory.
