AVON Villa and The Village Culcheth kept up their winning streaks with a 10-1 and 2-0 away wins respectively in the latest Warrington and District Football League games.

Meanwhile wins for Haydock, Penlake and New Street show who the leading contenders are likely to be come the season end.

Woolston and Croft had to make do with sharing the points in a close match that ended 2-2.

Division 1 saw Halebank make it two wins from two and FC Hale, Westgarth and Eagle JFC all winning.

Division 2 leaders Rainhill Town completed a 4-1 away victory over Widnes Dragons to maintain a 100% start to the season.

Other action saw victories for AFC Warrington along with AFC Millbrow and Winwick who picked up their first wins and points of the season.

Reserve division action saw Westgarth and Haydock share a 3-3 draw and away victories for St Michael’s.

Both Avon Villa’s 5-0 and The Village Culcheth’s 4-1 victories saw them remain with 100% records after two games and sharing the top two spots.

With half the games postponed Blackbrook started the season well with a 10-2 win at home over Sidac Sports.

Rainhill and Rainford shared a 3-3 draw and Orford completed the results for Reserve Division 2 with a 5-2 home win over Halton Borough.

The lower divisions of the league kicked off their seasons the previous Saturday.

In Reserve Division 2 there were five goal winning margins for Widnes Dragons, Orford 3rd and Whiston Vets.

There were certainly no hurricane warnings in Reserve Division 1 as Avon Villa beat Hurricanes 10 – 1 to record the biggest margin of the day.

Although other good wins for Sankey Vale, Haydock, The Village and Westgarth saw a total of 53 goals in six games! Division 2 meanwhile saw good away victories for St Michael’s DH, Bold, Moorfield and Penketh United along with home wins for Rainhill Town and Runcorn Vets.

Pierpoints United and Shevington Park battled out a 2-2 draw while wins for FC Tale, Halfway Rangers and Newton le Willows completed the results in Division 1.

The Premier league saw two 4-4 draws for Penlake v Woolston and Sankey Vale v New Street while Haydock again had to settle for a 2-2 draw away to Sidac.

Wins for Avon Villa, The Village and St Michaels see them all with maximum points after two games and sitting in that order at the top of the table.
