WHAT an occasion is in store for Warrington Rylands 1906 as a 'Super Saturday' is confirmed for the town's sport lovers.

Not only are York City coming to Gorsey Lane to take on Dave McNabb's side in the FA Cup second qualifying round but the BBC cameras will be present to show the game live.

The tie, which kicks off at 3pm, will be shown on BBC iPlayer, Red Button and BBC Sport online.

And with Warrington Wolves then facing Salford Red Devils in the Rugby League Challenge Cup semi-finals at 5pm, live on BBC2, a Saturday sports feast in front of the TV is assured.

Rylands, who play in the North West Counties Premier Division, are three tiers below National League North outfit York, who are one-time semi-finalists in the prestigious knockout.

In the last round there were setbacks aplenty to overcome, including missing a penalty and conceding an injury-time equaliser at Whitby Town – a team ranked two divisions higher than them – but they still prevailed.

McNabb’s men held their nerve to win the penalty shoot-out 4-3 to add another chapter to their amazing cup journey.

Clitheroe and 1874 Northwich had already been dispatched at the expense of Rylands.
