WARRINGTON Wolves assistant coach Andrew Henderson has been given an ambassadorial role with a club close to his heart.
He has been named as an honorary patron of Devon Sharks RLFC.
The Sharks were originally based in Henderson's home town of Torquay and he says he was only too happy to help them get rugby league on the map in the south west.
"It fills me with great pride to become a patron of the Devon Sharks," he told the club's website.
"The Sharks are true pioneers of rugby league in the south west. With the club originally being based in Torquay and being a Torquay lad myself, it makes it extra special.
"The Devon Sharks are leading the way in exposing rugby league to the people in the south west, providing them with opportunities to play and watch our great game.
"I’m fully supportive of the club and their ambitions. As a patron, I will support the club and it’s players to continue to grow and move forward.
"I will also assist in spreading awareness of the Devon Sharks and of their support for our great game.”
